How Safe is Your Home from Fire?
The Vintage Cooperative of Ankeny offers members the highest level of fire prevention and safety. The cooperative was built to the highest standards of Fire Safety and considered one of the safest multifamily buildings in Ankeny. The Sprinkler System, Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms protect the members in all areas of the building.
Fire Safety is taken Seriously
It starts with the no nonsense regulations regarding tobacco smoking and outdoor grills. The cooperative is designated as a no smoking building and only electric grills are permitted on the balconies. Each evening a member of the safety committee makes sure all the fire safety equipment and communication lines are operational. The cooperative works with the Ankeny Fire Department to insure members are knowledgeable about what to do in case of a fire. An annual Fire Drill is planned each Year.
Annual Inspections
All of the fire and carbon monoxide equipment goes through annual testing. Every fire and carbon monoxide alarm in every coop home is tested to make sure it works. The sprinkler and alarm systems are tested annually. There are four fire extinguishers on each floor and in the common area. The basement garage has carbon monoxide detection and air filtration to exhaust it.
